Some Commonly Asked Questions
Q. How do we know we want to rent from you?
A. Over the years we have had the blessing of providing accommodations for some of the nicest and kindest people you could ever meet. Dealing with so many different people has shown us that it truly takes “all kinds” to make the world go round. It has also shown us the the old saying, “You can’t please everyone” is oh so true. So here is the thing…. If you are cranky, crochetey, complainative or just plain hard to please…. DO NOT RENT FROM US!!!! There are just too many wonderful, laid back people out there who would love to enjoy themselves and their vacation in our homes. Why rent to the uptight and ornery when you don’t need to? Nobody satisfies everyone all the time. Occasionally things do come up that are unexpected. We try to be as flexible and accommodating as we can……if you do the same we will all have an enjoyable experience!
Q. Can we smoke in your homes?
A. No, we offer non-smoking accommodations. Our rules and contract very clearly state that if we smell smoke in our homes you WILL LOSE YOU FULL DAMAGE DEPOSIT! Please don’t do it.
Q. Who do we make checks payable to?
A. This one can be confusing. White Sand Vacation Rentals is just the name of our website. Sarah and I are sole proprieters; not a corporation. So please make checks payable to either Trevor or Sarah Ladner. Please do NOT make checks out to White Sand Vacation Rentals as we can not deposit them. Thanks!
Q. How far are your homes from the Beach?
A. All of our homes are about a 5 min. walk or less from the beach OR just a zip down the street on the Golf Cart!
Q. Which Beach in Destin are your properties on?
A. All of our homes are located off of Scenic 98. A quiet, pedestrian friendly road (25mph) that runs along the beach for about 5 miles. It is centrally located in Destin so you are only minutes from all of the area attractions. All of Destin is about 12 miles long. There is a county line that runs right through the middle of it which breaks it up into different beaches like Crystal Beach, Miramar Beach and Frangista Beach but it is the same beautiful white sand beach from end to end.
Q. Are Soaps, Toilet Paper, and Trash Liners Provided?
A. Yes, but upon arrival only. 1 soap per shower and sink, 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 liner per trash can and 1 single use dishwasher soap. Please bring more or remember to purchase them when you shop here. We do not provide paper towels or spices, however many times there will be basic spices like salt and pepper.
Q. Do you provide sheets and towels?
A. Yes, but please bring your own beach towels.
Q. Do you provide beach chairs and umbrellas?
A. No, however we do tend to acquire those things as previous guests tend to leave them behind. We do not guarantee those items. You can always rent them on the beach or purchase them inexpensively from one of the many beach supply stores.
Q. What fun things are there to do near the Homes?
A. Destin has tons of fun things to do! There is, of course, one of the most beautiful beaches in the country! Aside from that, we have taken some time to add just a few of the other activities on our website. Click Here to Check it out!
Q. How close are the Homes to a Grocery store?
A. All of our homes are within 1 or 2 miles of a grocery store. Destin has Publix, the Fresh Market, Winn Dixie and a Super Walmart.
Q. Is the pool private to the home?
A. YES!! All of our homes have private pools. So, you won’t have to share your pool side basking with anyone else!
Q. What can I do with the Golf Cart?

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. Credit Card, Paypal, Personal Checks, Certified Bank Check, Money Order
Q. Do I need to take care of the pool?
A. No. But we do ask that you keep it filled as water does evaporate as well as gets splashed out :). There is a hose at each home that you can use to fill it.
Q. How deep is your pool and does it have any child safety gates?
A. All our private pools are 3 feet at the shallow end and 5 to 6 feet at the deep end. By Florida law we have to have a child safety locks on all fences and all required windows and doors have safety alarms as well.
Q. Do you provide high chairs, baby gates and pac-n-plays?
A. Yes, Yes and Yes 🙂 Please feel free to ask us for any special baby needs. We’ll see what we can do.
